A frightening surprise

'Twas the night of Halloween
And all through your dorm
College students were getting ready
To trick-or-treat, party and
Act out of the norm
Jack-o'-lanterns were lit
Candy placed outside in a tray
With a sign saying, take one or else
You'll have to pay
Then all of a sudden students began to transform
Some became black cats
Preying on students to give them bad luck
While others turned into vampires
Yearning for blood to suck
Sounds of the wind
Echoed up and down the halls
If you listened hard enough you could
Hear distant screaming calls
"Let me out, let me out," said a voice
From the cemetery across the street
"Let me out, let me out"
Frightened
You threw your cape on and jumped to your feet
As you ran down the stairs
Ghosts stopped you in your tracks
Perspiring frantically
You felt the urge to attack
Afraid to turn around
You grabbed the fingers on your back
Twisting and turning them
Until you heard a crack
"Let me out, let me out"
The sounds of the dead walking grew near
As you turned around to face
What you thought was your worst fear
Then a light went out
And the ghost and hand disappeared
Bright flashes came from afar
That strained your eyes
Then suddenly you heard
"Thanks for coming to the haunted house you guys."
